About

Dailyweb.org is an independent news project where the public can read, vote and submit the most significant news. The purpose of the site is for all of us to mutually assist one another in finding the most noteworthy news and opinion of the day, week and month. Dailyweb.org is essentially powered by the involvement of its members, thereby encouraging diversity of news stories and sources, by highlighting both mainstream as well as minority viewpoints.

How To Use This Site

  • Read articles that others have recommended by clicking the headline on the Daily, Weekly, or Monthly pages. You can also toggle between the news and opinion tabs.
  • Vote on articles by clicking the day's, week's, or month's #1 button. Users may vote for articles only during the current period; i.e., only during the day for the top article of the day, only during the week for the top article of the week, only during the month for the top article of the month. The time at the server (US Eastern Time Zone) will determine the date and time. Some measures will be incorporated to limit users to voting for only one article in a given category (daily, weekly, monthly). Voting for an article for a day will automatically count for that article for the week and month; however, voting for it as the top article of the week (or month) will carry more weight.
  • Submit other articles for consideration by selecting "Submit" in the navigation menu. Then you may choose to become a dailyweb member by selecting the new user registration link where you will specify your login email and four-digit access code. Unregistered users may still recommend articles or news sources, which will undergo a manual approval process. Please remember to correctly identify the article as news or opinion when submitting.
  • Click any source in the list of sources to browse that site.
